Hi gents,

ok, this watch has been giving me sleepness nights ever since I saw it, so I gotta ask:

Based on the best materials AVAILABLE out there, who could built a 386 for me?

Here's what I'm thinking about:

- Best 320 / 328 / 3xx mini fiddy case, whatever this is
- PVD coated to an accurate brown
- matching dial and hands with matching lume
- matching crystal with correct AR
- EVENTUALLY modifyed case back according to the official pictures (engraving)
- I know the movement ain't gonna look anything like the original

Any advice would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Thanks,

Marc

Try pbdad at RG. He's made some crazy custom pieces and they are just beautiful!

Or Nightwatch @ RWG - I've seen some of his work on vintage Panerai's

Although, judging from your list of mods - you *might* have to bounce that project around to different modders to get what you're looking for

Good luck my friend...

If I were you I would spend my money on things that are produced...you are going to spend a load of cash. For that amount I'd rather buy a few ultimates and mod those or a pre-v or two. But you're talking tons of custom work. I wouldnt even tackle this and I build a LOT of a watches ;)

No sarcasm intended here. However, waht you are looking for will be on the pricey side.
Have you considered a good used gen? Or perhaps sourcing parts over time and putting it together yourself?

Regardless, I understand where you are coming from and appreciate what you are looking for.

Thanks for the honest an quick replies guys and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

:bubbles:

Have you considered a good used gen?

Well... yeah, I actually considered a good used 351 instead, however that would be round about 6000 Euro / 8400$ so that's quite a bit out of my range. And once I bump into something, the value go down the drain quite some.

The gen 386 isn't even available yet - however rumors have it, that it'll be somewhere between 10,000 and 14,000$... my CAR isn't worth that amount.

you are going to spend a load of cash

I dunno how good the case is on the 3xx currently available... The 312 from Puretime is 208 bucks. PVD coating would probably be around 150-200$, new set of dial and hands... 100? Modding of Lume and Crystal, say... 200 bucks. Sums up to round about 800$. Pretty similar to my current watch (Lum-Tec M6, very Luminor like, but made from solid tungsten carbide).

Am I completely off?

Best,

Marc

You are COMPLETELY way off mate.

WATCH: $208+30(shipping)
CUSTOM BROWN PVD: $300 at least (plus shipping)
DIAL: I don't even know where you're gonna get that brown dial from but say you can get someone to make a custom one for you it won't be under $250-$300
LUME AND CRYSTAL: $200 plus shipping

Right now you're looking at over $1k and that's excluding a strap where a good one costs $200+. Also shipping fees for everything, sending it to different people etc. etc. At the end of the day you're potentially looking at a $1300+ watch with an incredibly inaccurate and UGLY movement. I just don't see the point mate
