If you had the choice LH or the new born DSN for a 201a. I don't know what to go with yet. What do you all think?

Mirror mirror on the wall who's got the fattest Pre-V CG of them all?

LH tries but only in vain, DSNs new improved CG is the one that reigns.

seriously I've owned V, LH, Goin, and DSN (All except for THE fatty 1 of 10)

DSN is the thickest followed by Goin. Now that DSN has improved his lever. He's the best by far.

How well does the dsn fit a noob case? Do the feet need to be modified a lot?

I think the noob 111M is better. The lugs require less shaping.

Here is the DSN on my 201/A destro (noob 111J). The feet fit tight on the outer edges. The inner edges have a small gap that isn't noticeable on the wrist.

What about the 111n case. I know the lugs aren't as fat. But if that's what I can source for now that night have to do.

Noob 111N, as far as I know, has the fatter lugs in the market. See Klockis-ALE review
Why to get accurate CG in wrong case?
Anyway Grim has much more experience on this matter.

COLDI, meet me out back and I'll tell you secretly, that I don't see a huge difference between the 111J, 111M, and the 111N. The 111N would make a totally respectable Pre-V project case, but don't tell anyone I said that;)

Here's a pic of the 111J, maybe Ale can do something with it? I suck at photoshop.

I was leaning towards getting noob 112, scrapping what I don't need and using that as a base.

Does any one know if the noob 112 or 000 is back in stock. I know it was out forever.

I am a big fan of DSN I love his service and his unique offerings, some of his parts are very good. I have spent 10x more over the last year with DSN than any other dealer. Lets get that out of the way. With that being said, the noob case can't be beat, but you need to combine it with a DSN crystal, CG, crown and tube, hands and caseback for it to be a great build.

great, all that time spent sourcing a 111j, instantly meaningless :eek:hwell:

My fine tuned spidey sense sees a slightly fatter lug on the 111J. I think there is still EVER-SO-SLIGHTLY MORE MATERIAL on the top edge of the 111J, but it's not enough to stop you from making a nice pre-v out of a 111N. Just to give you an example. I was comparing the old DSN Pre-V with bad lever but awesome CG body to the new one with the improved lever. Something kept telling me that the new CG was thiner. I got out the calipers and discovered that I was right, the new CG is 0.18mm thinner than the old. That's like two human hairs. To me it was enough to notice, but I doubt most would notice or care:)

right, i'm still happy with the way the 111j looks, although i would like it to have more space between the outside of the lug and the lug holes like on the 111N. I'm just more or less frustrated that i had to spend almost a month looking for an old case that i wound up having to overpay for because it had some mods done to it that i could've done myself (and it had a bmc3 crystal which i'm definitely not complaining about), when i could have just sourced a noob v3 case instead in a lot less time with a lot less spent. anyway, rant over.

Grim, if you are talking from my Photoshop arrangement, bear in mind that 111N pic has a little more slope than 111J pic and then J can seem a bit fatter due to that.
Another thing can be the radius joining the case
Just for your info
