Which GMT Movement?

I'm currently looking at a Submariner GMT Batman and can take a look in the flesh, as not too far from me, but I wondered what automatic movements are usually used in these. I cannot imagine that there are too many to choose from.

If the movement is of low quality, then the rest of the watch might be worth upgrading with a half decent movement, but that will depend on what's currently fitted. I do appreciate the need to actually see inside, but that might not be possible.

What factory / kind of tier are you looking at?

There will be a huge difference in movement quality between a high-end piece from, say, CF vs. a shitter off of Dhgate/AliX from an anonymous factory...

That's the thing, I won't really know until I take a look at the watch, taking a guess, it's likely to be of lower quality, but who nows. It's a sale from a social media site and I will get hands on, if I can be bothered to take a drive.

Social media purchase?

Not a good idea for a newbie, i.e. someone who doesn't know what they're doing. You should stick with our TDs, at least with your 1st purchase.

Some also sell low-tier stuff. At least consider buying with a reputable seller on Dhgate like "Jason007".

Social media seller, replicas and a newbie customer are usually the ingredients for a rip-off, if not even worse.

And in case it's a private seller for a used piece, I would instead recommend our own M2M sales area. Even if you can inspect it in RL, are you confident you'll be able to keep a $250-200 mid tier piece apart from a $150-50 low tier piece? It takes some expertise and experience to be able to do that. On our M2M, you have the help of the sales team plus the collective experience of the whole gang who'll call out fishy offerings that slipped through within hours, sometimes minutes...

I'm going to give this a miss.
Hand stack is wrong and the cyclops has the wrong magnification, so the movement isn't going to be what I'm looking for.
