Hi everyone!

I need some advice from this great community... I'm longing for a Panerai for too many years. Now I feel ready for a gen but I can't decide on which one. I hope y'all don't care it's about a gen but your opinion would mean a lot to me. If it feels misplaced for you, mods, feel free to delete this and please accept my apologies.

So the thing is that when I was young I really wanted THE Panerai which was for me a Luminor Marina 44. I mean 15 years ago Panerai didn't even have smaller sizes but today there are so many options. Admittedly a 42 size fits my tinyish wrist much better BUT those are discontinued replaced by the new Quarantas. The other thing is that I really really like a 42 Submersible (I'm wearing a VSF 1209 right now) too but I have two buts... It's not that classic Luminor Marina model and it is much more more expensive.

Please let me know what you think. I also appreciate some wrist shots of your 42mm Panerais.

Difficult, maybe a PAM 682 as you like the subs?
Or a classically beautiful PAM 574, PAM 620 or a radiomir PAM 337
Or maybe try this one as a start, not gen but nice!
Great seller!

Hi Pam boy! Thanks for your answer. I had a look at the 682 today which was gorgeous but I think I prefer PAM 683 which unfortunately is more expensive... Radiomir is not my cup of tea. I have the 904 vsf already as I like to get reps to figure out what I want.

I thought you were looking for a more classic sub than the PAM 1209
But if you like the 683 go for it :)

Hello.

As I understand it, the task is to find a gen, 42mm, preferably up to the price of submersible 42mm, and at the same time what is being produced now can be bought from AD?

It’s just that it’s quite possible to find new / not worn models of 2021, but for this you need to actively search, and then you can find PAM2392 or PAM1393, or PAM1028.

And I also wanted to know if you still need a 1950 case, or DUE. (I suppose this is a definite difference that can be clearly defined)

Sorry, I meant a classic Luminor Marina 42mm or the 683.

Hello KOT,

You got it right. The thing is that my AD gives me a fantastic price which means for me that it is most of the time not worth it to buy it on grey markets. That is somehow disappointing because I think the 42 Luminor Marina would have been perfect?! Damn it...

Due models are too shiny and thin for me. I have to check 1950. Are those older models?

In that case, Less , you should check with your AD to see what models it has available (often you can find some unsold models from previous years).
I believe that 42mm 1950 models, at least PAM02392 and PAM01393 (black and blue dials), should be available anyway.

I guess this happened. :D Thank you all for helping me deciding. Price was definitely a major bummer but in the end it was what I wanted so I went for it.
