With the 088 Noob out of stock there are so many 24h GMT Super Reps available.

I went through the ALE's guide (I always check the "Bible") but didn't get to any conclusion and this type of watch doesn't seem very popular around the forum.

So, what would be the best recommended options? Please post your wrist shots if available.

Thanks!

Also think of the pam 531, it’s a vintage looking 1950s polished case with vintage looking lume.

+1 on the 531. Mine is at stroddas for some love right now but that and an 088/237 ghost are my favorites. Still searching for a noob 088. I wonder why they stopped making them.

Maybe stopped making but you could still get them from the dealers. The PAM089 is also another great looking 24Hr GMT watch.

Unfortunately it's not available. I might search for a m2m but would prefer to buy a brand new.

Regarding the 089, any idea how the color of the dial compares to gen? Usually dials of colors other than black or white are difficult to replicate...

What are you having done to the 531? I am thinking to have one also?

It's just being relumed and regulated as when I picked it up it wasn't holding a strong power reserve. Also the hands seemed to be sticking up in the air and not flat so I had Strodda fix that for me. Overall love the style of the 531. I highly recommend it.

The anthracite looks good. I've never seen one gen so I dunno how close it is to gen but there is supposedly an ultimate version around. If you like the 088/089 style look into the 237 ghost as well.

sidetalk: there is not existing 24h GMT, but 12h.

Hi, @shewie. I believe it's the other way around. The rep movement is 24h, so this becomes a problem for gens with 12h GMT. If the gen is 24h, then the rep movement matches well.

About the PAM531, ALE7575 wrote: "Fortunately gen has 24 hrs. GMT function, in this way reps can be accurate."

I have GMT so I will explain You as simple as possible, whenever your hour hand is making an hour, GMT function is moving by half an hour only.

Correct. That's what you want in a GMT marked with 24 hours, correct?

297 super rep is basically identical to the 088 except a black seconds subdial instead of grey and bracelet instead of strap. Lots of noob 297's in stock. 029 with tuxedo dial would be my 2nd choice after 297.

Jeez, there are both 12hr and 24hr GMTs. The PAM438/441 are 12hr GMTs, the PAM088 and PAM089 are 24hr GMTs. As 12Hr GMT hands are supposed to move in sync with the hour hand, there is no marking on the dial/bezel. There are markings on 24hr GMT dial/bezels. However rep movements are only 24 hour GMTs so the PAM438/441 are inaccurate, the PAM088/089 are accurate to the gen in that regard.

Thank you mysterio. That confirms my understanding that only 24h GMT can be correctly replicated.
