As much as I'm in love with the IWC Top Gun, my skinny wrists disapprove. I'm thinking I'll get an IWC 3717 and, if possible, have it DLC coated. Does anyone know where I can have this done? I believe I've seen a thread on this somewhere on the forums but after extensive searching I couldn't find it, so my apologies if this is a repost. Thanks in advance!

IMO he is the best in the business. I've had 3 things done by him. Its not cheap though. I think my last pam case from him was 345

But CHEAP coating becomes NO coating and then new coating
EXPENSIVE coating almost for life
Expensive coating from a professional with confidence is a guarantee

Yup you get what you pay for. Buddy has a 009 with his DLC. He dropped his on his tile bathroom floor. Dented the bezel but it didnt harm the DLC at all

I'm not too concerned with the expense, I'd much rather pay for quality. I'm excited for this watch and I'm looking forward to posting a pictorial/review! Unfortunately its a while out considering I have yet to order the base..

Kroexist did a bangup job on my 312! I believe he's DLC watch on Facebook and of course Kroexist on this forum. Runs around the same price as avitt. I dropped my 312 from about 5-6ft onto concrete, the movement broke(Vac fixed me up) and it dented the side about a mm, the coating didn't chip, crack or anything. He's got multiple colors as well, gunmetal, pencil lead even a reddish hue.

dordonko, The key is not to go for the cheap one, unless you want to throw your money away. Try Kroexist or Avitt. If you want to DLC something you want to keep for a long time and not worry about it fading or scratching, chipping or anything you go for the best. My 312 cost around $350 to have dlc'd and just about a month turnaround. It's just a smarter idea, unless you have money to burn. In that case, I'll give you my address to send it to me!!!!!!!

Do you send the watch assembled or just the case? I haverecently acquired a seamaster that I'd like to dlc.

I think you can do it either way but they charge you to disassemble it and then assemble it again

It's not a bad price though, especially when you're already spending the amount to have the DLC done. But if they break it, they repair it. If you break it, you repair it/pay for it.

Anything can be coated. It should hold up but won't last as long me thinks.

Thx,if it could be made to last,it would be a great watch one could wear as a daily beater as well as a dress watch imo...
