Where to get a thin enough screwdriver for movement screws?

I've been trying to swap a 7750 movement but all the screwdrivers i have are to thick. The ones i have are the normal "watchmakers screwdriver kit" ones. Small, but to thick.

If anyone know where to get a small enough screwdriver, let me know. Ebay etc. (I'm in Norway btw.)

Thanks, Peter

You can sharpen the ones you have and that will work. There is no replacement for the proper tool for the job. The screwdriver sets from Ofrei are worth every dollar, pound, or euro they cost. There is nothing worse than marring a screw or piece of equipment for the lack of proper tools. Good luck!

Seak: I will.

brtelec: I'm sure Ofrei's tools are gold, but they don't like sending abroad (they do, but EMS is really expensive.)

Thank you all for the fast replies! I was really worried a moment there that I wasn't going to make it with the movement swap, but now my hopes is back up :)

Check Birdman's section under the accessory and tool dealer forum here. Think he still might have some of the French screwdriver sets left, they're good.
And yes, you do need to sharpen your screwdrivers; it takes some pains to keep them in good shape, even good sets. And a steady hand. :D

Just to let you all know, Narikaa didn't have any screwdrivers. I'll take a look at sharpening the ones I have when i finish my final exam this semester on Wednesday.

Thanks,
Peter

When sharpening, ensure you are using a good quality, fine stone. And, most people benefit from a sharpening accessory, it's a small set of wheels that attach to the screwdriver, to keep things square when sharpening (attach them high up the shaft).

Also, do not sharpen to too fine a point. You want a good, firm fit in the screw slot, a screwdriver that is too small or thin can be just as bad as one that is too large. Too small and it can gouge out the slot, too thin and the screwdriver can slip, or the driver itself can bend...

Also, the cheaper screwdriver sets are usually of cheaper steel, which will bend easily, or wear quickly. And using substandard, or worn tools, as with any mechanical job, is asking for trouble.
