Where did PAM come from?

I'm wondering why the abbreviation for Panerai is PAM? Is there any logic behind the choice, or did someone just make it up and it stuck? If the brand was Pamerai, I could see why they would be called pams..

PAM: this is the prefix used to describe a PAnerai Model…ie. PAM127.

I wondered that for a while also. Ive seen it discussed on several panerai forums. It stands for PAnerai Models.

It's a short abbreviation from SPAM. Not the junkmail, but the food. Cause Panerai's are so beefy and thick like this masubi.

Just Kidding
