Where and what should i look out for when purchasing a Carrera Legend Chronograph or Carrera Day Date Chronograph?

What are the main differences from the replica to the real deal? how reliable is the asian 7750 movement?

where is the most reliable place to purchase one? Thanks

The Asian 7750 isn't the most reliable thing in the world. It's about as reliable as a teenager. They seem to have a fairly high failure rate and many on RWI recommend getting them serviced as soon as you get them. (that adds about $100-$150 to the cost of the watch). They are not recommended for noobies either. You have to set the time/date a certain way (or you break them). I have one, it works fine but I don't wear it much. I try to avoid them as a rule.

Any of the recommended dealers should be able to get you the watch (if it's made)

i personally like the carrera day/date chronograph. it is very accurate to the gen piece with the exception of the date/day font. a7750 has mixed reactions on this board. many use them without problems. others recommend an immediate service whilst some refuse to go anywhere near them. having said that, if you're looking for a Tag, i think most of the super reps use this movement so you would be eliminating a lot of great reps if you ruled this movement out.

tflgee is not wrong by saying the a7750 can be fragile. you do have to be careful when setting date/time but there should be sufficient references to this on the forum if you do a quick search.

most if not all the trusted dealers carry the day/date carrera model. Hont is the go to guy at the moment so shoot him an email and he'll look after you :)
