What's the best way to trade watches?

Hi - as the title says. I've done plenty of deals here and on RG, but they've all been one way traffic. If it's someone that you have never dealt with before, what's the safest way for both members?

I was thinking of trying this:

M1 PayPals M2 X amount of dollars
M2 ships watch
M1 receives watch, M2 issues refund
M2 PayPals M1 X amount of dollars
M1 ships watch
M2 receives watch, M1 issues refund

any thoughts?
M2 would have the longest waiting time, but both parties would be protected by PayPal

None of the above, I would only trade with members I know and talk to a lot. Know your member, know your risk. Even then we've seen long time members go rogue.

A long time ago, I traded at a gen fora a watch with one of those small time gray market dealers. Sending the watches was he easy part, it was the whole bs and drama afterwards. The so called expert extortioned money out of me which wasn't part of the deal claiming his expert eye rated my piece a lot less than what I had already conservatively said with clear pics.

In the end, it's all about trust. Involving pp as a safety net could bring more headaches and if you need to safeguard with paypal then maybe the trade should not happen.

But that defeats the purpose of M1 sending money in the first place. They are in the same position if M2 just shipped the watch.

Dude just use the sales forum and only trade w guys you know. Yes there may be 1 Denis spa for every 1000 members but use your judgment.

Only deal with cast iron members if you want to go that route, even members that are considered solid have turned into shits! IMO save enough funds and buy the watch and or sell the watch you no longer want is the best bet.

Perhaps you could send each other copies of passport and drivers license?....not sure it's a good idea or not (thinking out aloud).

Nothing wrong with trading IMO. One day I might loose out on a $600 rep .... I'll get over it in a day lol.
