I've embarked on my first build! The 5218-203a! I've admired this watch for a while and I thought it would be a great home for my Swiss 6497 that I scored on the Bay....
Here's the ingredients:
Swiss 6497: Unbranded, liberated from an 80's vintage pocket watch. PERFECT for this build
DSN Newborn Pencil Lead PVD case:Awesome out of the box. the shape is really close.
DSN Pre-V Matte Black Hands: Nice lume and matte spray finish. I can't see the difference compared to the FGD or Helenarou hands.
DSN Dial: Not happy with this dial. It seems like after several years this dial could be better with thicker indices and better printing on the dial. DSN is a great! Hopefully he'll deliver!
Jakob Caseback: Right now I'm using DSN until the Jakob arrives. I'll do comparison when it does. The thickness and quality of the engraving makes all the difference
Dirk Tan Strap with PVD: 1:1 Quality and Construction...AMAZING...enough said
Coming soon: Hopefully either a Southy or a Steph_Dexter Dial...These guys do amazing work. Easily as good as FGD in my opinion

Awesome! Let's wind this sucker and close her up! That was just too Gahd dam easy. I don't know what I was worried about..

The crown top sheared right off, but DSN was great and is sending me another FREE!
