A question for te members here:

I ordered a 111n Noob from a trusted dealer here. LONG waiting list... And to my disappointment, when the watch arrived, it was DOA. Non-operational movement. Fully wound, but no movement visible in he gears.

TD offered to take back for fix or exchange and so back it went. I requested an exchange, as the model they sent me had the older CG, anyway.

Once there, they swapped out the movement, filed the CG (good work so I was good with that) and sent me QC pics. Unfortunately, the movement had what I believe to be an observed fault: the regulator arrow was in contact with the swan neck... But the adjustment screw was much too short. I asked for a fix and waited another couple weeks for new QC pics.

When the new pics came back... Nothing had visibly changed with the arrow/screw/swan neck. I pointed this out and the TD suggested the manufacturer must have misunderstood. As its been many months, I asked for a simple replacement, as the watch had never been worn and was DOA out of the box (returned still wrapped in factory plastic!).

Agree to give me a "new" watch (but indicated it was the same case back?!?) and recieved new QC pics a week later. Now the regulator arrow is in contact with the screw, but the swam neck is 1-2 mm away from the arrow. When I pointed this out, the TD is now suggesting its a common issue, and just a rep, after all.

My responce was that I've waited more than 4 months for this watch already, Im paying above the usual going rate to deal with them as a TD, I have purchased 3 watches and spent roughly $700 with this TD in 4 months, and I deserve for them to stick by me as a loyal customer and cherry-picke a good example. I told them of they couldn't do this for me, to please issue me a refund so I could take my business elsewhere.

I have yet to receive a Responce.

So my question is this: Am I being totally unreasonable here!?! I'll put my flame suit on and take my lumps here if I am. But I feel like I'm being jerked around and that the TD is trying to pass on his rejects or stick me with a mix & match parts bin special. It's just gettin old.

Hi msh
Concerning movement you are right. And you needed a solution.
Concerning Swan Neck in a Noob simply there is no solution. All screw of Noob are short and usually either the screw doesn't touch the Regulator lever or the Swan Neck spring doesn't touch this regulator.
So, if you want a Noob you must have some tolerance about Swan Neck. No solution from a Dealer. But that doesn't affect the working of the movement.
I hope you have read my thread about Swan neck Part III.

Good luck

I wouldn't have sent it back to the TD in the first place tbh. Source a high beat H3 6497 movement from ebay and have a modder swap over the plates. Much less hassle, much less time and probably would still cost you less than shipping it back and forth and waiting on QC pics etc.

OK Bones, this is a good solution but no easy for a beginner and, moreover, the wacth is already sent to the dealer !!

Anyway your advice will be useful for new cases.

My lesson I've learned the hard way: ONLY SEND BACK A WATCH IF IT HAS A FLAW WHICH WAS NOT PRESENT ON THE QC PICTURES AND/OR IF ITS TOTALLY UNREPAIRABLE!!!

TD-s would offer you a discount from your next purchase, or give a partial refund if you take it to your local watchsmiths. No need to send a counterfeit item back again to China and then expect that the same people repair something THEY HAVE NOT NOTICED AT THE FIRST PLACE.

That's it, I tend to stick to this myself and get a discount from my next purchase. Sometimes its hard, but I know that its much easier on the long run if I repair my watches "myself" (using someone, off course...).

@OP: you should have asked my friend these questions BEFORE struggling with the TD and/or ask info on your QC pics here. This IS a situation when posting QC pics actually would have made a lot of sense. Anyways, you are running out of your choices, I'd involve a Moderator who knows the TD and try to sort it out somehow with their help. And use a different TD next time, try someone else.

Pictures were fine in the beginning. Watch just simply didn't run when it arrived.

QC pics on the proposed replacements just aren't up to snuff, unfortunately.

But they are to snuff! As ALE has said, the regulator doesn't function on this movement, they are all like that. I hate to say it but, it's a rep mate.
