Hi Everyone,
I just bought a Tudor Black Bay Blue ZF V5 and is expecting it soon, also got myself a leather straps with it.

Obviously when the watch is here, the stainles steel band will definitely be too big for my arm and I may need to size it myself.

So my question is, what kind of tools do I need to size the SS band and also to switch the straps to Nylon or Leather straps?

Any certain brands of the tools that I should get and where can I get it?

Thank you very much in advance!

I recommend you not to buy cheap screwdrivers.

Also be sure to clean or soak the bracelet before you try to remove the links.

I recommend an ultrasonic cleaner from amazon. Some members soak in wd40, some in baby oil.

Hi Maron,

Well noted. I am a bit worried to scratch the watch or the bracelet.

How to soak the bracelet? What how it help? To soften it for easier removal?

This^^

I'd also add, no matter how easy it may look to remove a screw or spring bars, work slowly and use the correct tools, or else you'll end up with gauraunteed scratches

V5 is not the version w the rivet bracelet so regular jewelry screwdriver set (I recommend to buy a set...they are fairly cheap on the bay). You can soak the bracket in wd40 to get rid of some dirt potentially stuck between the links and after that just soak it in baby oil (overnight) for a spa treatment and it will be great (I have done exactly the same for my V5 and couldn't be more pleased with the results...bracelet is buttery smooth now with no rattling). The whole process is fairly simple and easy

To help loosen up.the screws from the links , especially if there is dirt trapped in them.

Never try and force a screw if it diesnt want to let go.

Do a search as there are several threads explaining different methods.

Any thread you read that says to use oil, wd40, wax, soap and Toothbrush , soaking this and soaking that. You can replace all above steps with "put bracelet in ultrasonic cleaner for 10 minutes, let dry"

What I observed is, that many manufacturers use some kind of loctite on the screws ofthe bracelet. If this is the case on your bracelet, it is very likely, that you damage your screw heads. So use good quality screw thrivers and soak the bracelet over night in some kind of oil. What has worked great for my bracelets is ballistol oil.

Kind regards.
