After a lot of anonymous reading there and some happy purchases, i thought it was time for me to say thanks and share maybe a few of my own very modest experience.

why did i buy replicas ?
Well, i was the happy owner of a gen royal oak 39mm for 10 years but was stupid enough to sell it when it cost "nothing" (who could have thought 8K for a steel watch would be nothing one day) because i wanted the white dial instead of the blue one. I was not into watches for a some years then i woke up to buy the watch of my life again. 39mm was gone and prices had tripled. I called an AP representative anyway who said me i had to wait for years and take an appointment. This day, i decided to learn about replicas...

I have a beautifull gen, a perpetual calendar from Jeager Lecoultre, my daily watch who really made me forget about my ex RO. But i really enjoy my few reps too, just for fun. Beauty should not be so rare, reps are a good thing in novadays prices.
I will never be a real collector because all the watches i really like costs 200 or 800K and will never be rep while i will never be able to buy them. Greubel Forsay, Lange Datograph, JLC gyrotourbillon, MB&F, HYT, Grand Seiko Kodo Constant-Force, Czapek, Arnold&son, Vianney Halter, etc. Yes, i have simple tastes

A little question please : i made some real high res macro photos of my reps, i think some could enjoy to see fine details at 50MPixels. In wich threads/forums should i post them ?

Most of the information you need to know to start is there. If you're preparing to buy, read the stickies before ordering. When you're finished, you can continue learning by reading the stickies in all remaining sections. If it's stickied, it's important information.

If you intend to sell, read the sales rules and all stickies in the sales section with particular care and make sure you understand each single rule. Sales rules infraction is taken very seriously here. As a new member you are not eligible to sell. Using the sales section is a privilege, eligibility must be earned, make sure you know and understand how.
