Hi folks,

I finally pulled the trigger for my first rep. Just ordered the PAM 312 KW V1 with Asian 7750.
Now waiting for the QC pictures.

What should I check in the QC pictures to verify if the watch is fine?

I will be grateful if some friends here can give me a guide.

I know QC pictures are not allowed here. But if I want to have others help me to check the QC pics, where can I present them?

This is a tough question, with many answers.

mostly you are looking for flaws in the parts that aren't inherent to the KW312.
scratches or dings
dial printing and finish issues
Can't do anything about the CG or lever LOL
Also be on the look out for a badly recessed cannon pinion, this however can be fixed by any mildly competent watch modder.

Hi Grimlocktime,

Glad to help. This is a legitimate question and highlights the fact that The main purpose of a QC photo is not to nitpick minor flaws, but to do two things:
1. Look for MAJOR flaws that aren't inherent to the model
2. Verify that the watch you are being sent is the correct model (sometimes it's not)

For example, I recently purchased a Noob DSSD from a TD. The watch was more or less perfect, as expected. But I did notice that the crystal was not pressed evenly. Rather than reject the watch I accepted it and re-pressed the crystal myself.

This would be an example of something to look out for on a typical rep purchase.

I generally use QC pics to first, make sure the td is sourcing the correct watch, and second, to check for major major issues. No reps are perfect. I rejected a watch yesterday due to the dial having a flaw on it (scratch by an hour marker that was very visible). I let the TD know and he agreed and immediately got another from the factory and i immediately accepted

Grimlocktime and rhaykal,

Your comments are really valuable! As this is my very first rep purchase, I totally have no idea where should I look at when the QC pics arrive. Now, I think I have some clue with your help. I am just playing with my fingers and looking forward to seeing my beauty:)

Go search for a couple of pic for the watch that you are getting in here, compare your QC photos with the pic you got and see whether got anything unusual and also check the lume for watches that are superlumed (request for one if your dealer didn't send you). Everything fine then just accept it and wait for the new watch to arrive.

Don't bother with anything micro as QC photo are zoom in to many times what human eyes can see.

Yes, lume is generally a nice thing to request. I just quit asking for them. I figure if the lume is bad or unevenly applied but the rest of the watch looks great I can always send it off to cwazy1 for a relume that'll be even better than the factory lume. I dont want to risk getting a watch in the next set of QC pics that has good lume but other possible errors

A TD recently rejected my request for lume pics. He said it requires a completely different set of qc equipment. My response was "to turn off the lights?" Either way, our resolution was that he promised to turn off the lights and check it out himself- yeah right.

That is kinda BS, I don't care how many set of QC equipment he gotta use, this is his job and if it is stated as superlumed out of factory then he gotta provide me a pic of the lume shot to make sure i get what I pay for, if not refund my money back.

But if it is just normal factory lume then i won't be bother asking for any......
