Hi

Can you help id what movement this is and how I go about getting it out of the watch so I can clean the face and the inside of the glass - it’s dusty for some reason!

Thank you

Poke that button and the crown/stem will release, then the movement will come out - it’s held in place by the plastic ring.

Thanks. That’s brilliant!

How do you adjust the date wheel to get the number to line up on that movement?

You have to remove the hands and dial to access the date wheel, carefully remove the overlay with a x-acto knife and reapply it in the correct position with dial dots.

How hard is it to remove hands and replace them? Plus - how is the dial held in place?

Pulling and replacing the hands isn’t terribly difficult if you have the right tools, it really depends on your skills. There should be some tutorials here and on YouTube. The dial is held on by two dial foot screws on the side of the movement, one at 28 and one at 55.

This is a low beat movement, is it the same as the original poster?

I'm wondering is this movement can be stripped and rebuilt or will it explode when I take the back plate off?

Yes, dg2813. You can try to service it if you’re up for some fun! It’s really more cost effective to just replace it with a new movement- because you’ll need a new movement for parts if any need replacing in the original movement
