what kind of movement is this?

hey guys,

bought this pam on canal st. a couple weeks ago and decided to crack it open to see what was inside...

looks a bit cheap to me, what do you think?

thinking about upgrading the movement to something better any suggestions?

It's a chinese miyota copy, probably a dg2803. No reason that this movement can't be reliable and probably likely, but it also could have been assembled poorly leading to problems in the future. Kind of a crap shoot with the odds in your favor.

one of my first reps from IOffer had this movement. I wasn't pleased as I was expecting a 6497 clone.

However, I have heard they can be reliable--just cheap. Mine ran, when the sky and sun aligned and the crown was pushed in a "certain" way (never knew which way that was!)

I suppose I could have it looked at and fixed--but just isnt worth it.
