Very good watch. From what I understand it uses the same movement as the gen as well as the same power reserve. My complaint is that the date font is a dead giveaway that it is not a gen. Overall the dial is done very well. For the first production run of this watch the power reserve did use the silver arrow and not the leaf. The casback is also correct. The lume is your normal rep lume.
The price is definitely not good, but you are paying for a very good movement.
I am in the process of modding mine, and it has been quite difficult to acquire the parts.
I am sure SSSurfer can chime in as he has the best 028 I have seen.
If you want to mod to look like Gen you will spend close to a grand.
Finepics has the correct date wheel, and it should set you back around $90. Then you consider the relume, and the cyclops, and a proper strap, you have quite a good looking, but expensive rep.

The movement inside is rock solid, one of the best auto pams.

In addition to what was said, the quality of pvd coating (or lack of) is a easy tell. It is not the same type of coating what so ever, way to thin and shiny. The gen has a much duller appearence.

I believe some have lightly buffed down the finish (cape cod etc) to reduce some of the sheen, it seemed to make a small improvement.

If you would get it recoated with a true PVD, that would be an amazing rep.

I love the 028 just wished it was cheaper or at least fully modded and with a nice strap at that current price...

The PVD which is really anodizing is plain old bad. If you want this watch either buy the other version with plain dial and ss case or (if you can find one) buy hobnail dial with SS case and get it PVD'ed. The cost though will be $600 for watch, $90 for datewheel, and $200ish for PVD so you will be into it for $1,000 easily. It is fabulous when you are done but a major investment.

The movements and interior finishing on the original movement 2893 PAM reps has never been matched again.

the movement was prepped not from Sopras...but from the swiss company SOPROD...they make the modul to disply the power reserve....if this watch has swiss ( not swiss based asian) 2892 and the real SOPROD modul...its worth every penny....there have been Power reserve Pannys out lately for 150 bucks that work well...see WBK !!
but nothing compared to realETA 2892....and SOPRODmodul !
