Hiya, could anyone explain what VPH is my guess would be vibrations per hour. I'm looking at two watches both with asian unitas 6497 movements the more expensive one has a lower VPH. How does this affect the performance of the watch.

Another question is, if I buy a watch from asia and the have it shipped to England where it is considerably colder will it need calibration.

Thanks for any help.

You're exactly right, Vibrations Per Hour.

The higher beat rate A6497 should have a longer power reserve, as it is a replication of the 6497-2 and should have a reserve of 56-ish hours. The slower beat 6497-1 has a 40-something hour power reserve.

Nah, it shouldn't need to be calibrated simply because of the temperature differences. If you want to get it regulated, I would suggest waiting a few months for the movement to "settle in" a bit first.

Virus Papiloma Humano ? Thats only lethal to humans!

Just one more thing about the VPH, or beat rate, does it have a bearing on accuracy?
