OK.... just knockin around looking at PAMS and saw this on the silix site....

http://www.silix-prime.so/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=115_152&products_id=3839

have a look at this and tell me please.... is this some kind of fantasy watch ?
I about fell over when I saw that plexi crystal.....
WHAT a crystal ! .... but that looks taller and shaped differently from the fiddy or any other PAM I have seen.

SO ? this can't possibly be something from the Panerai line up.... is it ?
I have been reading ALE'S guide religiously for 2 months now.... haven't see the likes of THIS ! lol

what on earth is it ?

thanks

PAM 448 should be 47mm, and Silix site declares it as 44mm model, strange..., maybe a typo?

It's a variation of the PAM 249 that came with a 6497 movement and a domed plexi.

VERY interesting ! so then are you saying that this 249 variation is a model that Panerai actually made ?
OR... is this an imagined watch that never really existed ?
I know... according to ALE... that Panerai made the 249 .... but did it actually come in these variations from Panerai ?

ALE ? what do you say ?

thanks

Thats not a Fiddy, that's a 422. It uses a 1950 case.
A Fiddy is a 127

Silic watch has a fiddy (127) like crystal shape which means the walls of the crystal do not raise straight from the bezel, they are instead inclined towards the center of the crystal. Of course silix crystal is plexi while fiddy's is sapphire.

I did not know there was such a variation in PAM 249, thanks projectologist

Yes.... I know that but I am ONLY talking about the crystal... not the case.

the picture link of the 422 I gave was only to show the the crystal.
did they use a fiddy crystal on the 422 gen ? OR.... is that a different kind of crystal ?

thanks

thanks for your comments Kilo.... but is this really a model that Panerai made ? or is this a fantasy watch put together by the factory in China ?
Want to hear back from Proctologist on that.

or anyone else that knows about this.

Having looked again at your link again.... and then at the page.... is this really the same watch as the link I posted because this crystal does not seem to be like the one in the link
from Silix that I posted.

you know what ? I am probably wrong. lol
I just can't tell from pics if this is the same crystal or not.
the watch in your link is a 47mm so.... I don't know what to think about that Silix rep. lol

This could be a typo on the part of the TD .... I will send them an email and find out.... I am just really curious.
maybe it really is a 47mm.

At any rate.... maybe ALE can comment on this too. I just didn't think there were any 44mm cali dial Pams that had this really raised domed crystal.

You misunderstood my comment. I was referring to the watch the OP was interested in as being a variation of the 249.

There is only one version of the PAM 249 that Panerai made.

A view of the plexi with the computer screen for lighting...
