The (genuine) 50th Ann. Navitimer, with black dial, is my all time favourite Breitling. Period.

We've all seen the versions fitted with the OS20 quartz; dodgy autos with faux chrono and also the Seagull manual wind version - and for various reasons, they've not been much of a success. So we choose to stick with the conventional models that use the 7750 or the '7753' ...as they are as good a resemblance as we're gonna get.
So imagine my joy when i glance this rep....the magical red legend "50th ANNIVERSARY"...
but then it dawns on me, everything about it is wrong:
its fitted with 7750 in tricompax layout, but too far apart....
due to the sub dial spacing, the case, bezel and dial look huge...maybe GMT proportions??
extremely high polish all over, the case & bracelet should be satin brushed
the slide rule bezel is way off - look how far away the graduations are!!
the word "DATE" is in the wrong place
the running seconds is supposed to be at 3
the case back is supposed to have the 2 planes logo et al
and most obvious of all - the dial appears to be white. Only silver and black dials were ever produced!
Why oh why do they continue to produce this waste of time and effort? Who the hell will bother to buy this?!

If any of the dealers are reading this, they would sell more "50th Anniversary" editions if they used a Swiss quartz (like in BR01-94 rep) which also has the seconds at 3. Then it corrects the spacing issue, and you have a reliable accurate watch, with all the flaws corrected using lessons learned from the previous versions of this!!
