i'm not too bothered about the comparison to the genuine or 1:1 cases, I just want to spend $300 on a watch which is going to last a very long time. What are the qualities like for your reps in terms of movement durability and longevity ?

It depends how well you take care of your Watch, as long as you don't drop it, you take good care of it it'll last you for a very long time! Have the movement serviced once in awhile as well, maybe once a year or two (IMO).

I'm assuming the PAM you are getting is running an A-6497 Movement, it's a very Robust Movement, basically it's literally a tank, has very good power-reserve and it is very reliable. Don't drop the watch, don't overwind the Watch till the winding stem gets damaged or broken. Avoid all those and your PAM Rep will have a very, very, VERY long Wrist-Life. :)

How about the 7750 movements without chrono function? I'm not totally sure, but I think my power reserve is already less then when I got the watch about 3 months ago.

a good hand-wind can lives for years... with a swiss 6497 some decades...

I was wondering the same thing. I've gone from a solid 36-38 hour reserve to less than 24 on my two a7750 pams in 3 months....

6497s are very reliable. I haven't had issues with the 7750s without chrono. I have hade some winding and keyless issues with the 6497, but nothing catastrophic. In short, the Chinese mechanicals are a very good bang for the buck. And with our awesome forum, it's pretty easy to find someone to service the watch. Just pull the trigger and keep your fingers crossed. And if you do go with a chrono 7750, read up on handling as there are some big dos and don'ts.

My Two 6497 watches were great. The first one had about a 24 hr power reserve. the second one kept amazing time and last the better half of almost 3 days with out winding it.. It was a freak of nature. I still have and extra 6497 movement Im going to possibly make a Franken out of it with a Gen Dial and Hands in the future. Great Movements. No issue with my Seagull movement in my 571 KW. Like most have said. Don't drop it and try not to bang them around a lot. It happens from time to time with banging them on doors and other objects. A good Service no matter what movement once a year wouldn't hurt it at all.
