What is a V CG?

Hi,

What is so special about a V CG? Where can I get one? Who is V?

I'm starting to put my options together for a 111, and need as much help as possible.

Pam 111 so far:
Case: ??? (PWC w/cannon pin upgrade perhaps )
Dial: DSN new style dial
Crown: T 48
CG:???
AR: Cheif
Lume: rex or vac
Service: rex or vac
Strap: Gunny or SC

Need advise on the CG part, as to whether to keep the rep one and let someone (who ??) mod it for me, or just buy a modded one from some where.

Is the PWC 111 a good rep to start modding? What other good reps should I be looking at for the mod?

V is a member here and at RWG.cc who commissioned 1 or 2 batches of Panerai CGs to be made. I don't know if he currently has any stock or if he is planning to have any more made. I believe Little Hero also sells a correct "Historic" crown guard, as well.

Thanks mate, I've been reading sooo much info on these forums, and at first I thought it was helpful, but now I'm even more confused with where to start!!!

In building this 111, I think there are too many things to consider, like which case, which mods, which movement, which dealer how long it takes, customs issues, QC issues and budget etc etc.

I'll remain reading and asking questions until I'm read to pull the trigger!

PS: I still think these forums are very helpful by the way, just didn't know how helpful it would be!! lol

Any one of them is the best out there right now. The rest is patience and a good eye to make it fit your case. It will not fit gapless out of the box.

Did you fix the lever pin yourself on any of them or did they come flushed?

Whats the story with both PAM's, are they built or bought as they are?

I've noticed one says "L Swiss L" and the other says "L Swiss Made L", whats that about??

Left is 111e with incorrect CG but I like it this way. Right is 111H. Wordings is different for different series I think. Both standard reps, with rep crowns. These new crowns are very close to gen and I prefer these than T48 crowns. V has rubber inserts so definitely not wobbly. As for LH, it does not have rubber insert but the tolerance is very good, so no wobblying as well.

The pin comes flat with these premiun CGs. So not much work to do here. The stem has to be shortened and CG sanded to fit the case. More pics for your reference. These CGs are ex though...

Sorry I just noticed that they were different dials (one being the sausage and the other sandwich).

These pictures are amazing, I love the 111h, it looks really good. I take it thats a LH $1K version then?

If not what and how did you do that???

Nope, 111H is not LH. It is standard rep with with V CG. It is very hard to get V CG now.

I'll wait for the owner to confirm, but looks like standard rep dial to me -- not Little Hero.
