What is a hornlug?

Just bought one because I thought it looked great. I have no idea about them how or when they were made. If anybody can give a little info that would be so great I tried searching and taptalk only searches like two weeks

The model/specific case design yours is based on came with a different dial... see pic attached...

The dial in yours (a 4-liner) belongs in this case set style seen below, another horn lug version different from yours...

Not in that dial/case combination... but the case set and dial do exist... just not together.
