What do dealers do when you RL the QC?

Does anyone know? Do they just keep the stock and try to sell it onto other customers who might not see or find the flaws, or do they send them back to the factories for replacing? (If there is a obvious visual flaw)

Just a random thought and couldn't see this info anywhere.

I assume RL means you're rejecting the watch? If the dealer has another order for the watch and it looks ok from their perspective they will offer it to the next customer.

Yes, I recently had my 3rd watch QC today, and one of the index markers was wonky... so much so that I couldn't not notice it, and it would really annoy me if I had it on my wrist. So I RL'd it.

Just wanted to know the process behind what they do after they get a rejection. I felt bad doing it because it was so slight, but to me it would have been enough to make me not want to wear it. Wasn't sure if I was being a real pain in the ass to my dealer for doing this over something like this, and was hoping it wasn't that big a deal to them to piss them off with me.

There no straight answer.. depends on a few factors.

Which factory, some are accepting of exchanges much more than others so said dealer may have to keep it and pay for a new one

The QC issue, the factory might deem it as acceptable so refuse exchange regardless

dealer clout.. if they’re a big time dealer they get different privileges and can do what they want really

I think the normal process is that they find the worker who assembled the rep, and have them publicly flogged; Dial markers a millionth of a millimetre out of alignment will not be tolerated in the proud fake watch makers guild.

This really depends on the dealer. Some can send them back to their source (can be a middleman or the factory) or they have to keep it and find someone accepting it.

They have a perfect example in reserve which they’ll send you pics of if you reject QC. Then they’ll send you the original one anyway because you would never notice in real life, you difficult schnook.

At least that’s what I would do if I was a TD.

Dukejones told me that in his case he can give the watch back in case of an RL. He works with middlemen.

Biguan can't return the watches and she is advertising them in wechat and wscxme and needs to sell it to someone else.

The answer to this is pretty obvious - they will sell it to the next person who orders it. There's only a very small number of people who will publicly run QC pictures through Reddit etc. Most don't.
