I am not talking about quality, etc. I am talking about the features.

For me its size, I have small wrists but love big watches. But I have also been drawn into watches with a clear rear casing displaying the beautiful mechanics inside. I still stare at it with amazement! I suppose thats one of the reasons why I dont think I would buy another quartz - daft isnt it!

What about you?

What do I want in a watch? A watch that says, "Hey, bow down, as I am the ultimate chick magnet." , You know, something with propellers and that can shoot incapacitating darts. Nothing fancy. 8)

I hate to be late for appointment. Wrist watch allows me to have good management of time. Despite my love for mechanical watch. I like accurate watch too.

I love quartz for their accuracy and mechanical for their beauty

Look, feaures!

The build. When you pick it up you can just tell it was put together right.

...must agree. If I´m have a watch on, I feel naked.
I´m a fan of heavy watches too, but it´s relative. With my 6,25" wrists, anything ABOVE 40mm looks like a wallclock on a strap to me. lol

Cheers,
Spirit.

Once its AAAA+++ Swiss Quality Made with Solid 18k gold genuine swiss eta movement & has a 10 year rep factory warranty I'm satisfied.

In reality Im moved by elegant watches, that arent too busy, some thing nice, dressy, and not too loud.

I like a clean and functional look. Bells and whistles don't mean a thing if i can' t tell time because the dial is too busy. I like a date window that has an easily readable display. A solid feel and a "finished" appearance that goes well in many situations and types of dress.

In that case, hey, everybody! I'm naked! :D

No, seriously though, I really liked the OP's question. I've often wondered that myself, but never thought to ask. And, um, Hambone--you might have something with that watch/taser idea. :)

Its the blend of simple understated with the fuinction and overall size, not too big not too small.
Its like cars, you just "like the look of it"
Purely subjective. I cannot say for certain but i know when I see it.

I'm with you on the military style. I have three Hamiltons and want more! If the dial's real busy, it losses it's usefulness to me as a timepiece.

+1...plus the functions, the "exclusivity", as well as the feel and build do it for me.
History also has something to do with it, one of the reasons why I love Zenith so much.
