What about this PAM328 from TimeShop?

Hello, I am trying to play with the "big boys" and elevate my REP watch status, little by little.

I have been browsing the PAM, since it seems like it is the new Rolex, but I just do have the correct eye for them yet - it is extremely hard to tell the differences for me.

Anyway, if anyone has a second or two, could you tell me how does this PAM328 model for $168 from TimeShop look?

I did an advanced search for a review, but my result was negative.

Thanks!!!

I have it http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/pam-120-luminor-marina-from-73212?t=73212

It used to be listed as PAM 120 on timeshop.

I am happy with it bracelet is very nice Sapphire crystal seems very good have some marks on bezel but nothing on crystal.

Have been pushed into a pool with it and had it on in the shower once no water got into it.

The only thing I would like different is the date wheel to be higher it is very recessed and hard to see unless in direct light.

Second hand is very smooth lume is good.

I have worn it almost every day since recieving it.

I have what I'd assume is the same model from a different dealer. I like it. I wanted a Pam with the sandwich dial, on a bracelet, with the date on the dial. this was the only model I could find that checked all the boxes.

the only "problems" that I see with it(I'm far from a PAM expert) is the clear caseback shows an incorrect movement, and the datewheel seems to recessed. I don't mind the caseback at all, it obviously can't be seen when wearing it. The recessed date isn't my favorite, but I'm not really sure how much different it is from the Gen, it is a thick dial after all...

I won the RWI birthday raffle for a free relume by goin, so he currently has it... which reminds me, the original lume seemed too green in the daylight... here's the link to his pics:

and here are a few I took:

This is an interesting option. I used to own this exact model. I paid $230 for it back in November from the Cartel. This lower price is quite good. The downside to this model are as follows:

1. Angus (Puretimewatch) worked with a boutique factory to create a visually superior 328, and he is selling it for $268. Angus' model has a much, much better date window (size, shape, placement on the dial), although it is slightly off from gen. Angus' datewheel is also way superior to the TimeShop version. And the lume color and dial in general on Angus' are better than the TimeShop version.

2. The quick release strap/bracelet buttons on the TimeShop version are HORRIBLE. But, if you never change your bracelet it is not a big deal. Otherwise, you will want to take out the bars and replace them with Panatime springbars- cheap and easy fix. I think the jury is still out on Angus' quick release buttons. Not sure if they will hold up long term. Angus' model is too new to tell.

The positives of the TimeShop version.

1. The movement in the TimeShop version is absolutely superior to the 7750 in Angus' version in terms of reliability. The TimeShop version has a Seagull 35J and Seagull movements are, IMHO, the best rep movements you can buy (not talking about "real swiss" sourced movements, talking asian clones here). I would take the Seagull any day over the 7750, which is nowhere near as reliable and bullet-proof as the Seagull. Yes, the newer 7750's are more reliable and better built than the older 7750's, but they are still nowhere near as reliable as a Seagull. Of course, the reason for the spotty reliability of the 7750 is that it is a very complex movement when compared to other auto movements. The sole reason why Angus used the 7750 was for aesthetics of the the more correct dw placement, it is not used because it is a better performing movement. The 7750 can be made to be reliable, but you will need to get it serviced, and be prepared to pay $150 - $200+ for that. The movement in both the TimeShop and the Angus versions look nothing like the gen, it is just that Angus' looks "less bad".

2. If you are not a stickler for detail and you are buying the watch for you, not to fool others (I never try to pass off my reps as gens), and money is a bit tight, then the $100 savings is something to consider.

my two cents....

Are you gonna get it? At that price I'm very tempted, having previously decided to try and avoid catching the 'PAM bug'. I currently have a couple of PAMs, and previously gave away one I had on a metal bracelet (quartz chrono).

I really like the look of the bracelet, and the movement seems interesting and good quality.

Puretime's may be better, but it is $100 more expensive.

I'd rather wait until payday and get the one from PT... I seems like the extra $100 may be worth it...
