This is an interesting option. I used to own this exact model. I paid $230 for it back in November from the Cartel. This lower price is quite good. The downside to this model are as follows:
1. Angus (Puretimewatch) worked with a boutique factory to create a visually superior 328, and he is selling it for $268. Angus' model has a much, much better date window (size, shape, placement on the dial), although it is slightly off from gen. Angus' datewheel is also way superior to the TimeShop version. And the lume color and dial in general on Angus' are better than the TimeShop version.
2. The quick release strap/bracelet buttons on the TimeShop version are HORRIBLE. But, if you never change your bracelet it is not a big deal. Otherwise, you will want to take out the bars and replace them with Panatime springbars- cheap and easy fix. I think the jury is still out on Angus' quick release buttons. Not sure if they will hold up long term. Angus' model is too new to tell.
The positives of the TimeShop version.
1. The movement in the TimeShop version is absolutely superior to the 7750 in Angus' version in terms of reliability. The TimeShop version has a Seagull 35J and Seagull movements are, IMHO, the best rep movements you can buy (not talking about "real swiss" sourced movements, talking asian clones here). I would take the Seagull any day over the 7750, which is nowhere near as reliable and bullet-proof as the Seagull. Yes, the newer 7750's are more reliable and better built than the older 7750's, but they are still nowhere near as reliable as a Seagull. Of course, the reason for the spotty reliability of the 7750 is that it is a very complex movement when compared to other auto movements. The sole reason why Angus used the 7750 was for aesthetics of the the more correct dw placement, it is not used because it is a better performing movement. The 7750 can be made to be reliable, but you will need to get it serviced, and be prepared to pay $150 - $200+ for that. The movement in both the TimeShop and the Angus versions look nothing like the gen, it is just that Angus' looks "less bad".
2. If you are not a stickler for detail and you are buying the watch for you, not to fool others (I never try to pass off my reps as gens), and money is a bit tight, then the $100 savings is something to consider.
my two cents....
