i grabbed this quote off the panaristi site.

Full service with a new set of hands from Panerai is reasonable, probably $500-$600 (check with them for pricing). If your watch has never been serviced it probably is due anyway so I would advise sending it in and have the hands replaced if the corrosion concerns you.

wow, you could buy a really nice rep for five to six hundred quid :D

full service on a rolex is 350.00/400.00 and they are a automatic movement. sounds like panerai is ripping them off. at least rolex polishes and re brushes the bracelet also included in that price. 99.9% of pams don't even have a bracelet.

Last time I sent my gen 113 for servicing, it cost ~US$350. The watch came back fully polished and looked more or less brand new.

Gen PAM 237: Servicing + replacement GMT hand and front sapphire crystal cost ~US$770. The case was fully polished as well. Furthermore, a 1year extended warranty was provided for both watches after servicing.

If there's corrosion on any of the hands, it means moisture is getting into the watch and it's more than due for servicing.

BTW, servicing an gen AP ROO or anything more complicated will start at US$1k.

I was going to say, I would expect $200 just to service a movement from a well-established watchsmith. You're automatically going to pay a premium for sending it back to the manufacturer, I don't care if it's Panerai or Invicta. Plus a new set of hands, $5-600 doesn't surprise me at all. You can bet Panerai is charging more for replacement hands than DSN is.

In the interests of trying to help some people out, I have generously decided to offer my watch servicing, um, services, free of charge. All you have to do is send me your gen PAMs, Rollies, Omeeegas, etc. (along with the accompanying box and papers of authenticity-- just, you know, to have them all in the same place) and I'll clean them up, no problem. Honest. Here's my address:

John Smith
Back Alley behind the Chinese Restaurant
Springfield, USA

And I promise your watches will come back like new to you! In fact, I'd go so far as to say you may not even recognize them.
