So about a month ago I picked up a Gen Rubber strap for my 026k. I immediatly put it on, but I wasn't loving how it felt stiff like the rep strap. Seemed to feel more or less JUST like the rep strap, so I haven't worn the watch that much over the past month because of the way the strap felt and pulled at my arm hairs.

Anyways, fast forward a month. It's gong to rain today so I want a rubber strap watch. I go to wear the 026k, and the movement is dead. I arrange to have a movement swap so I take the strap off to send the head back, and just realized, I PUT THE REP STRAP BACK ON IT a month ago. I must have taken the rep strap off, got them confused, and put the rep strap right back on it.

My Gen strap has been sitting in my desk for a month now, with me thinking I had it on my watch... :lolcina:

Haha good one :D
Only got rep rubbers so no chance to mix em up!
Luckily you didn´t put your "rep strap" up for sale at least ;)

haha

is there a big difference in rep and gen rubber?

For the pams, I can't feel & see the difference. I've handled some gen pams on rubber and the rubber on them looks just like the one I have on my rep! Goes to show how good reps are getting these days..

:picard:

No the movement died simply and he took the watch out because of the rain (rubber strap, you know) ;)

Dont facepalm me bro :D . OP said "I go to wear the 026k, and the movement is dead". Maybe it's just me but I think it leaves something for your imagination. :lolcina:

Wouldn't it have been ironic if a guy chooses a rubber strapped watch to handle the rain and kills his movement instead?

I was just looking at Gen Breitling straps and found that the rubber strap and deployment are $800 if I want the Gen versions of the Rep strap I already have. That is ridiculous.

http://www.authenticwatches.com/breitling-20mm-ocean-racer-deployment-buckle.html

I am looking at the rep strap and deployment and can't imagine improving them in any way that I could care about.

I want to get a brown leather strap with a buckle, though, and the Gens are listed at $395? Are they that much better than a $50 Rep?

Actually I even don't see the big difference between the gen Pam itself and the last reps!)
But I don't pretend to be the expert cuz I'm new in Pam. So correct me if I'm wrong :D
