I'm not sure what is going on here but enough is enough. RWI will not tolerate discrimination on the basis of sex, race, country of birth, colour of skin or and other bullshit reason!
That goes for both sides of this little brawl by the way, that thread in the IT section was a disgrace and certain people should be ashamed of themselves but they ain't alone in that are they?
Now, stop with all this diversive bullshit please, this is RWI and we just don't go in for that crap here but neither do I want to any more unfoundered BS about racist actions by staff. All forums? That's an overstatement. It has nothing to do with RWI and stop being so defensive. The way i see it, it's clearly your fault for shipping the "watch" in such a lousy envelope.

In the defence of Italian members, I've gained the distinct impression that the Italian customs and postal services are a major part of the problem and the cause of a lot of reputational damage. There's a long tradition of corruption in government - Italy is notable for having a troubled political history - and this must surely filter down to these other arms of officialdom.

BTW, I'm not trying to excuse the behaviour or actions of any members specifically - just making a wider observation regarding the issue of Italian M2M deals. Personally, I just won't risk it.

I can confirm this. Sadly the Italian postal service is one of the worse we have in the world.
I NEVER buy anything m2m if the seller isn’t willing to ship it using an express carrier. And some doesn’t want to, even if I obviously cover all the costs.

I’m ok with much higher shipping costs, but at least I never experienced any problems.

Well, there's a distinction to be made between corruption, and customs officials doing their job and seizing counterfeit goods. If a watch is lost because customs seized it, then in any "normal" country you get to know about it - they inform you it's been seized. That's not corruption.

My input as an italian... first: the italian post is bad but not that bad. I send and receive at least one hundred packets per year and in the last 3 years nothing was ever stolen or lost. I may be lucky but these are my numbers.

The italians are more fraud oriented? Not so sure. I was scammed (other forums, other hobbies) by people in the US, Australia and Germany. Still I, do not think about these three countries as "scammy" countries. I did not do my homeworks properly and I did not research the seller enough (reviews, reputation in the forum, ..). Part of it was my fault and I learnt the lesson.

As an italian I am a bit surprised that some members here speaks of "italians" as if *I*, that never did anything wrong, was somehow part of a problem and I should feel somehow shady. I know this guy as much as anyone alese around the world of RWI. Zero, no idea who he is. If he is a nice guy, a pervert or a serial killer. So I do not want to be associated with him. It is just a random fact that I live in a 1500 km long pensinsula with this (maybe) scammer. I am always hypercareful to be nice and to please the other party during a RWI transaction. And I guess most of you are like that. Also when he started the topic in the italian section, me (and most of the other members) told him that it was difficult to be on his side. Just ONE guy was with him, his good friend with the double account. So there was no italian gang helping him or going against the mods as it was written.

I guess the higher rate of scams coming from Italy are due to the fact that 300$ to several italians are "more" money than to someone from the UK. Italy has a lot of people earning around 1500$/month (working poors, I never understood why not just looking for a job abroad... but that is another issue). So the lure of a quick gain is higher. Similarly in the italian section you find people trying to hustle a way to buy a watch that costs 50$ less, even if lower quality, since it is less expensive. I guess we would have the same effect with people from eastern Europe or South America. They would probably be more attracted by a 300$ quick win. since it amounts to 25%-50% of their monthly income.

He always had a reasonable English when he was able to take his time to answer, it's when it was the heat of the moment with rapid post everywhere that he had issue getting understood, that clearly did not help the situation.

All of this shouldn't have been dealt with in public, RolexLover is perfectly aware and ok with this now, it was a bad move. As I said to his Italian countryman : we are the only ones, as staff, with all the evidence in hand, and the initial plan was to do as we do every time there's something like that happening : split the loss.
It's impossible here to really prove that any party has done something purposely wrong. Why we asked for a full refund to start with ? Because of the attitude and way RolexLover handled it.

We initially sided with FoxWilde because there was nothing good coming out from the other side, then we managed to calm down RolexLover and progress was made, new evidence where submitted, we had time to think about it like we would normally have if dealt in private.

This is the gentleman agreement way of dealing with such things. If you guy trust us for all the other part of this forum, you can also trust us on this, if he's free to use the forum again, we know what we are doing.
