How to 'hack' a 6497/8 movement...

Just read this on a gen forum...

''Actually there is a way to hack the 111.

While at full wind the mainspring is to powerful to hack the movement with slight back pressure on the crown, allowing the watch to fully wind down and giving it just enough to start the seconds hand allows one to "hack" the small seconds hand with slight back pressure.''

Just tried it and it works...;)

I cannot understand the setence....

Sometimes monkeys are hard to understand.

He means when you pull the stem out to time setting position and turn it slightly backwards you can make the second hand stop.

Anyone who has a vintage watch knows this already. I personally don't like doing it because you are basically jamming the movement to a stop forcibly. You are putting a brake onto the geartrain with all the mainspring force behind it. If I do it on my Omega Geneve the watch actually stops, you have to shake it to get it started again. Makes me very nervous.
