Coldi, I swim with my 243 all the time. I believe it is a real He Valve on the 243. some watches like the 187 have a faux He valve. I will open it up tonight and check.
COLDI ... can't confirm if it's functional, but I've swam and snorkeled with mine multiple times. Never had the WR checked, but it's never been an issue. Mine is about 2 years old.
thats real! The function is supposed to allow micro levels of helium gas to escape from the watch during prolonged stays in underwater environments. What you show is exactly what a helium valve should be.
Coldi you can epoxy it, but you probably don't need to.
Coldi no need to epoxy that He in my experience. Just grease the seals on it, case back and crown/tube - and it should be fine. Ive had three and used all three in water including my current one.
Seriously I'm stunned with the level of quality and even the interior finish of the rep 243 case. Even the parts you can't see are nicely finished. I have worked with many gen cases and I would not think for a second that the rep 243 case was not a gen.
The greatest risk for leak on it is a damaged Crystal gasket from improper assembly. But you would know that pretty quickly by dunking it in your bathtub. If you pass a 5 ATM test I wouldn't hesitate to take it further.
