I just purchased and recieved a big old brute called PAM 187. I really like it so far. I was wondering how the water restistance is on these replicas?

If I bring the watch to my local watchsmith, could he test the water resistance without ruining the watch in case it fails?

Good times!

He should be able to. They test it by removing the movement/dial/hands, then sealing the case back up. Then they test the water resistance. That way if it DOES leak, they haven't damaged your movement/dial/hands.

That's how it SHOULD be done, at least.

Thank you for your reply sir. I will ask my local watchsmith how to proceed. Would really like to be able to use it like a real watch.

Take care,

most watchstore can do this, they put the watch under a vaccum and see if it leaks.

Without the removal of insides? Sounds a lot easier. Thanks for the advise.
