Waterproof Panerai?

I'll be heading out of town in about a month or so for some much needed beach time. Recently I've been wearing my PAM111v3N on rep rubber strap and was hoping to take it with me but I'm afraid of wearing it around water. I have yet to get my watch waterproofed but I've been quite afraid of doing it as it doesn't seem as it would have good resistance to water....especially with it not having a screw down crown. My question is is it worth having my 111 waterproofed or should I use this as an excuse to buy an AP Diver v5? I appreciate any advice on the matter.

Waterproofing in a rep is a lottery, you cannot assure waterproofing in a rep, whatever said the dealer and the catalogues. Because there is no real Quality control
Usually the reps saying waterproof are valid for swimming pool and clean with water but you cannot have a guarantee.
You would need a waterproofing service form a specialized watchsmith to be sure about this feature.
With the AP Diver will be exactly the same (Diver is actually only the gen)

Thanks Ale. I completely understand that it would need to be turned over to a professional for waterproofing. If I were to get the AP Diver, I would immediately send it off to Tony for that service. I guess my question is are PAM luminors waterproofable? With it not having a screw down crown, I am quite nervous about the possible water vulnerability of the watch....even if it were sent in for that type of service.

Yes they are easily waterproofable. No worries about Crown with the correct O-rings

Thanks Ale. Looks like my 111 will be heading to the beach with me after the proper waterproofing service!
