i ordered my Panerai 111H from davidsen and he said it's water resistance up to 3ATM (or 90 feet).

my question is, would this be okay to swim with or be underwater with? i think i'm a little bit too scared to wear the watch underwater and all.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Take it to a watch repair place and have it pressure tested ..... then you'll know.
Until then, it will always be a worry.

Waste of time and money to have that watch tested. DSN tests and guarantees all of his stuff before sending them. You will be fine showering and swimming in it. Enjoy.

Davidsen pressure tests all his watches before sending out. He is one of the few dealers that actually does quality control, and this is a big reason many members buy from him.

If Davidsen says it's OK, then it's OK. No worries. Just don't swim deeper than 90 feet.

It's nice to see he waterproofs his PAMS.
For the reps I really want to bring into water, I prefer to have this double checked locally.
But as far as swimming is concerned, 3 ATM is kind of risky, here's why :
http://www.chealwatch.com/water.htm

I have to find the ISO standard yet, but it seems that the tests are done in conditions where there's no movement, therefore whereas 3 ATM sounds good, it id eventually hardly enough.

When you look at the construction of the PAM case, you can also imagine it does not have an optimal waterproofness. And if any, it applies if all gaskets are greased.
On my 111, I found a gasket only on the caseback. Nothing on the side of the crown, and I'm not sure that our reps are really benefiting of the CG and lever advantages when it comes to water resistance : look if your crown really reacts (move a bit on the left) when you close the lever. On most unmodded PAMs, no.
Also, there's no rubber gasket under the crystal, only a thin (plastic ?) ring. Don't know if it's enough.

Just feelings.

this is exactly what i was reading.

i know he tests them but that specific device doesn't really test it in water-like conditions. i would be so nice just to be able to wear the watch while i was swimming in no more than 12 feet of water.
