There is a good chance that they are water resistant. But the rule for us is to have someone test it for you. Just to be safe. You can pull the case back off and grease the seals. This will give you more peace of mind.

While you have the back off, clean the threads of the caseback and the case with some rodico - all manner of grit and crap was in mine!

Hi
Although the maker or dealers says the watch is waterproof, It is areplica without Quality control and it can perfectly not to be waterproof.
To assure it you will need a test and get a waterproofing service from a professional.
Usually all good reps called water resistent are suitable for swimming.
But you cannot be sure!

I posted in the tech section... Has anyone bought one of the Chinese water testers? They are hand pumped and go for 160 gbp. Just wondered as have been thinking it might be useful if they work...

Anyone tried em?

I was originally curious about this as well, but once I got my new strap I realized that I would never be getting it wet :)

The thing to remember is the QC of these factories... as said above....

Sometimes you will pick up a version that is pretty much WP... however it is common to see missing or incorrectly sized O ring in the CB, CG etc even just simple lubing... so never ever assume any rep is WP

You should from a good practice POV get every rep srviced within a short time of having them... so when doing that have them pressure tested and dealt with if needed... you only have to look at threads on here and other forums to see just how dirty these movements are let alone poorly built in a lot of instances...

Even these latest AP V3 divers are coming out the factories without correct O rings etc

There is a steam test that can give a quick idea of things but I wouldnt recommend it to the uninitiated..

I couldn't agree with you more - wait a little longer to wear and service the new REP ..... this allows a proper break-in and helps you to enjoy your REP for as long as possible depending on use ....... and treatment
