Question for the experts - I've been looking at testers similar to the Bergeon 5555/98 (but the cheaper Amazon kind  ) to do some at-home testing to gauge what the resistance is on some of these reps...

I noticed these testers have a gauge to 6bar, but per Bergeon's manual, states that its meant to be used to test to 3bar only with 6bar being the "safety." Can anyone explain what this means for safety? I assume the tank (cover, nuts, bolts) is rated >6bar and the safety is to compensate if the pressure is increased past 3? Is it an issue if I wanted to test a watch to 6bar with these testers, thus pumping it to the max? Or is anything past 3bars inaccurate?

I think it's to account for margin of error. Meaning safe to use to 3 bar, but RATED for 6 bar so it doesn't explode and paint the walls with Swiss made shrapnel if you approach or exceed 3 bar.

Similar to how some manufacturers test their WR rating to include additional 25%
