Hey Guys

question, I have a watch which stops working, if I wind it or shake nothing happens. When I give a little push to the balance wheel it runs again. Untill it is empty or set time and it stops. Again hit the balance wheel a bit and start running again.

what could that be?

Thanks

My first guess would be the intermediate wheel has failed- I just had one fail on a A2836. did the same thing. Part # 203 on the ETA oil chart.

once you've nudged the balance wheel, does the watch continue to run whilst on your wrist or are you leaving it dial up on the bench?

YEs it keeps running when I have it on the wrist. When I take it off and leave it going until power reserve is gone, and then want to start it, I have to give a little swing to the balance wheel..

How slow or fast is the watch running when you have it running?

runs on time , no problems with that,

Have it on the wrist now for 3 days and no problems, and keeps running... Only when I let it die and don't wind it , it wont start normal..

Hmm very strange, my initial thoughts are a large beat rate error, over 1m/sec. But I don't suppose you can check this unless you have a timegrapher?.
