I have been a member since 2011 but this is my first post.

I recently purchased a PAM243 Noob V2 from one of our best TD. Service has been impeccable during the purchase process.

TD initially mentioned problems with movement but had it fixed before sending out.

I checked the timegrapher image and seemed fine. Amplitude 276 and no beat error.

I received watch and seemed to be running correctly for a while. About half a hour later, it stopped at minute 54.

I tried again. Run for about 50 minutes, then stopped again at 54 minute.

I even gave a bit of manual wind but problems persist and watch stops when reaches the same position.

Anybody can indicate a good watchsmith in the U.S. (even better NYC area) that would serve it? I have not even told yet TD but will do soon. I know that I do not want to send watch back to China considering delays, customs and all other potential problems.

Thanks in advance to all those who can help me.

Wow, thanks. That was fast.

I wonder if he works on A7750 movements.

If there aren't other suggestions, I will give him a try. I am so disappointed. I waited for so long before pulling the trigger on the PAM243 just to find out that watch shows major problems...

Thanks for all the great and quick suggestions. Katt replied fast like the speed of light.

He suggested a movement swap with a new A7750. I am reaching out to the TD to see if he is willing to source substitute movement.

I will also try to contact the other watchsmiths suggested above.

If anybody has had similar problems, I welcome any suggestion. I am a so disappointed but I want to solve the problem.

The watch is otherwise very nice, if it only worked!!

There is always Vac. He definitely works with 7750s as he has my zf382 right now for a movement servicing/cleaning. His price is a bit on the higher end and he has a bit a of a turn-around time (4 weeks at minimum.....I miss my 382) but he does amazing work....I have an AP MH purchased from him that was serviced and it runs beautifully.

Guys,

I need your honest opinion on this, because I am new to the forum as a poster (been registered for a long time).

My TD had already sent the watch to be serviced once. There was a delay in sourcing the watch, which he explained was due to a problem with the movement.

It is obvious that the movement was not fixed.

I asked for a replacement movement knowing that I could get it swapped easily. He is instead asking to return the watch that just arrived and never worked, in order to be serviced again in China.

I know that balancing pros and cons, it is not worth the risk. The watch might still not work, will take months to see back and would have to clear customs twice etc.

However, I feel a bit cheated as I am left with an expensive paper weight.

Am I being unfair or unreasonable? Should I open a ticket with some mod.?

I just want to know what is the right thing to do. I have not mentioned the TD in my posts for this reason.

I need to know if this is a somewhat normal occurrence or the service is being questionable.

Thanks.

Thanks, I could probably walk in, in the next days. I presume that he works with reps., right?

I know it's frustrating, but this is the rep world. The sooner you accept that the sooner you'll enjoy it for what it can be.
Check out the watchsmith I mentioned earlier. The guy is Chinese and knows Asian movements well. You can walk in anytime and he doesn't care rep or not.

This is super helpful, I will check with the gentleman in the next few days.

or if you are looking for NYC area - are you familiar with the Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus? Their is a guy with a Fast-Fix Kiosk there. They have worked on my PAM251 before and actually wound up replacing some parts in the A7753 movement. They charge pretty decent and have a really quick turnarround when it comes to watch repairs.

Super. I prefer places where I can walk in instead of having to wait for mailing etc.

I will try with the gentleman in NYC, and if he can't I'll take a drive to Paramus in the w-e.

visit our watchsmith section and take your pick. I would not deal with anyone not listed there. Sure, there are lots of modders that people will mention that can work on these movements, but there's a reason why guys like Marlin and Vac have their own sections. They're great at what they do and have a long and solid reputation.

Thanks. Would be nice if there were more trusted watchsmiths. They seem super busy. Anyway, I pm.ed them this morning. I''ll report when I know more. Meanwhile I'll give a try to the old gentleman downtown New York. The way I see it, it can't hurt building a relationship with local that has come recommended. I am more concerned having been sold a watch that was clearly displaying problems fron the start.

No much luck with Maddox. He does no longer work on automatic movements. Said he is approaching 90 but referred me to someone else. I will keep you informed.

No reply yet from my PMs to some of our watchsmiths here.
