Watch winder gift

Hi

I wonder if anyone can answer a question for me please.

I was given a twin watch winder for xmas. I have only just plugged it in as it sat there looking pretty until this evening. I intend to use it as I don`t want to offend the gifter.

I have the Pam bug and have a KW 312 with an ST2555 movement, which I love by the way and wear it everyday.
i wanted `something for the weekend` and a bit more casual so I have a KW 389 incoming again with an ST2555.

Now to the point, has anyone any experience in using the ST2555 movements on a winder? The winder has several uni directional rotations as well as one way rotations so there are options.

I know there will be for and against using a winder but it was a present so I would like to be able to use it if possible but I don`t want to do any damage or indeed if they will keep wound at all.

Thank you in advance for your valuable advice.

Pete

From my experience, the ST2555 doesn't wind on the winder when I put it to CW at 650, even though it's supposed to be unidirectional CW. So I set it to bi-directional at 750 and it started to wind. Sometimes it stops though. I think it has to do with the angle of the watch and rotor. Mine is vertical, perhaps it didn't wind when it wasn't exactly at 90 degrees. Read somewhere before that it needs to be vertical before the rotor actually moves... not sure how true is that.

Ok I'll do a test. Got a cheap 21j on it at the moment to test it. I'll have my 389 soon so will have the opportunity to try both on and off. Thanks for the reply.
