Hello everyone, I am quite new to the subject of reps and have spent the last while researching as I am looking for a nice dress watch.

I would like to get some feedback on whether what I researched is coherent or whether I have misunderstood something.

At the moment I would go for the Blancpain - Villeret. In the list of movements, the Miyota 9015 was described as good and robust and I like the design.

That's why I didn't go for the Glashutte - Panomatic Lunar, because it was too uncertain for me, as the description for Asia 23J didn't sound so good.

Alternatively, I thought about the Breguet - Classique, but I liked the design of the Blancpain better.

What keeps me hesitating is that in the list of factories OMF (Blancpain) was listed as medium quality. Should I rather go with a brand that has caught more attention e.g. JLC ultra thin by ZF? Is there anyone having experience with the watches mentioned above?

Hi, I solved a similar problem. I bought Omega Aqua Terra 150M. It's probably not a suit watch, but I really don't like leather straps.

Miyota 9015 is very good, but i have to Deviced between design YOU liked and quality of movement :)

Firstly welcome :)

Secondly - what you picked are not really dress watches - those should be very simple, i.e. 3 hand, date max.

The watches you chose are not and will not be very reliable.
Any complicated replica is going to be iffy at best. If you are ok with this, then the 9015 base is probably the most reliable from the lot (after servicing) and should serve you well.

As for the other “more popular” brands - the best rep dress watches are currently Patek Calatrava and JLC Ultra thin. Alternatively a Rolex Cellini, but again, not a true dress watch.

Hi, welcome!
As @Procurator said, strict watch taxonomy defines a dress watch as a quite simple watch, 2 or 3 hander, no complications apart maybe a seconds subdial or a date. I tend to agree with this, but mainly because I like simple watches.
But we're in a free world and there's a lot of dressy watches that can play the part.
You did good homework in factories and movement, good job. You can't do much wrong with a watch that's on the consensual list, while less known models may have flaws that could ultimately bother you, apart from sheer lower build quality.
If it was me, I'd take the Calatrava 5296 sector dial. But I got a penchant for sector dials, so...

Thank you for all the replies.

I think I will go then with a simpler Breguet Classique maybe like this one: Link.

I see that in the Breguet subsection the PKF variant was quite highly valued but they talk about a v4 and I only see V2 for sale. Is MKV or LFT any good?

Contact a TD and ask for availability first, tell him you want a v4 and see what he answers. Then you go from there. For less popular watches, if they are available at all, there may be longer waiting/sourcing times.
