Hi,
I understand that changing the date at midnight on a 7750 breaks the movement!!!

Never noticed this as a sticky....are there other movements that can fail so easily that myself and other Noobs should be aware of?

Thank You

Thanks for the link Melswatch. I've never heard of this problem before so it's nice to read about it before I screw anything up!

Seems really strange that you cannot change the date between 7pm-2am. Knowing me I would forget that important bit of advice after a beer or two...

these asian 7750 are truly sensitive :(

So is this a problem with all asian 7750 movements?

In the link posted above, it mentions that this was a common problem with the older low beat versions, and that the newer ones are deemed to be more reliable. I tend to opt for an ETA movement, but even then people say they're not worth the money! Ah, the rep game is a confusing one I must say.

Um this applies to ALL watches with a date change, even gens, not just A7750's. You should NEVER change the date while the gears are active.

THIS!

I was glad to learn this right in the beginning of my hobby when I joined WUS.

Ok...so in summary....

Trilboss post says:-
- "Don’t set the date between 7 pm and 2 am"
- "Don’t re-set the chrono with the seconds hand anywhere BUT between 10 and 2 on the dial."

Francisco:-
- "Dont change date around midnight. (So same as above)

Watch site I just read (Asian7750) :-
"Never reset the chronos while they are running."

I should make this my sig :)

OK...update. I believe the source I read was grammatically incorrect. I believe the chrono rule is actually do NOT reset when chrono hand is between 10 and 2 (rather than don't reset unless it is between 10 and 2)

Can someone please confirm this????

Thanks
