For years, even the best replicas have fallen short when it comes to weight. Despite near-perfect case finishing, reliable movements, and accurate dials, the difference in heft has always been a dead giveaway. But with VSF closing the gap, are we entering a new era where spotting a rep becomes nearly impossible?

Some argue that this advancement brings the V2 Daytona dangerously close to being "super rep" status, while others believe there’s still room for improvement in finer details like movement finishing and lume consistency.

What do you think? Does the new weight make the V2 Daytona a must-have, or are there still key areas where it falls short? Drop your thoughts below!

at this point the real question is why would anyone buy anything else but a VSF Daytona?!

the pricepoint is VERY attractive

..making me want to pull the trigger to be honest. You get the best at a pricepoint that rivals what is currently out right now = VSF dropping nukes on the rep world as we know it

Added weight is great as far as the guy in the street is concerned for sure and has always been a give away on pm models for sure. The new Daytonas on a rubber strap though as less of a problem as there’s is a fair heft in the bracelet unless comparing like for like with a gen. In the case of sporting a rep any dealer worth their salt will open it and as good as the rep movements are unless swapping out certain parts for gen will always be a tell alongside serials and lack of paperwork.

As for feel it’s a no brainier though and be nice if there were some retro versions of the day dates

Not sure I'd dare wear this beauty anywhere near an AD—might get mistaken for a VIP customer! 😆

That Daytona Ghost is seriously pulling me in. With a proper sapphire crystal swap and an aftermarket white gold plating, it could easily hold its own in a collection. The V2’s improvements—like the upgraded movement and case refinements—make it a true heavyweight in the rep game, and honestly, at a glance, even seasoned watch nerds would have a hard time spotting the difference.

That said, my wife is currently giving me the 'another one?!' look... I think I just heard my watch budget being revoked! 😂⌚
