So i just got a VSF Submariner 116610 which is a copy of a watch made from 2010 yet the serial number is one from 2001 when you put it in the serial number checker.
This seems odd when all that effort has gone into building a great replica watch. Or have i missed something?
It has a K25 number.

Any modern Rolex comes with a so-called „random serial“. There is no logic behind these serial numbers and therefore no way to determine the production date based on it…

In 1987 Rolex started using a letter at the start of their serial number to show the production year of the watch. In 2010 they started to use random serial numbers that doesn't show the production year.

The K25 serial you have is what VSF uses in their Submariners along with some other variants like Q66 being produced right now. So when you checked the serial number and the K showed it was produced in 2001.

I couldn't had said it better than the gents former to me.

You could get a serial that starts in 201, that doesn't mean that the Submariner was built in 1927. Totally random now.

If you had a 16610 or something else, then yeah, it'd be wrong.

Thanks for that, it did seem to be an obvious oversight when they had put so much effort into the watch.

You could see it as them putting extra effort to ensure not everyone has the same serial etc

To add to McD's post above, each factory will have some numbers or letters showing that the watch came from them and they will change on different models they produce.

This also helps the buyers to confirm that the watch they are buying (in your case VSF) is actually made by the factory they chose and isn't a fake VSF. If you use the TD's listed here you will not have to worry about getting a fake Clean, VSF, BVF etc.
