Hi, I recently received a watch from a RWI TD. The watch looks incredible . I'd agree it's the best quality rep (stock) that i've seen and it keeps impeccable time. The only thing i noticed that to me i expected better quality is that the bezel has some very slight "play" in it with you firmly try move it up and down. Is this normal or would you stay this is excessive?

I don't believe i can post a video so i uploaded the vid to the following link:

Additionally - i also ordered from the same TD a high quality rep RubberB strap and asked that this strap is the correct one for the 114060 - however upon fitting the RubberB the bubber end-links(?) on the strap seem thicker in depth than the 114060 case and thus the strap extends beyond the case into the bezel - thus making the bezel too tight to use and the rubber from the strap is restricting the bezel's free movement (image attached). I was assured this is the high quality RubberB rep (cost $60) and the material and feel seems very good and better than cheap RubberB reps i've seen, yet the fitment isn't good. Would this likely be that the RubberB sent to me is NOT for the 114060 (maybe instead for a Daytona, etc)? Has anyone tried a RubberB on a 114060?

(once i have some additional inputs i ofc will go back to the TD to raise these issues but first i wanted to get a view from RWI members on these issues)

Best,

How did you even think to try moving the bezel in those directions? 😅 It’s meant to rotate, not move up and down!

The fitment of your RubberB looks really off, I agree on that.

haha obvs when inspecting it checked it properly (and checking free play seemed like quite a basic thing to check - also the bezel rotation didn't feel as tight as it should be) - and thus this was pretty easy to spot ;)

Best,
I've got this kind of play too on my 16610 (now 14060), but ...
Mine is 30 years old !
On a modern, new sub this would bother me too ...

yeah i hope to hear more from others with VSF 114060's to ask/see if there's also has this level of play (i.e. is this normal - keeping in mind this is still a rep so maybe we're not in a position to be too fussy), or if this is actually a QC issue (i.e. is it valid to raise this with my TD and should they have caught this as i asked for a thorough check to which i was ensured would happen).

It’s kind of hard to tell how much force you’re exerting downwards on the bezel from the video

Have a VSF No Date and it doesn’t have that much play in tolerance on mines when pressed down firmly. Changing it to rubber straps didn’t affect it as well

As for the RubberB, I previously had gen RubberB before this oysterflex and it was flush with the case lugs. The one on yours protrudes a little too much above the lugs

Thanks for your info. May i ask where you got your rubber strap (price?) and is it high quality (in line with the watch)?

It’s currently on gen oysterflex. Purchased the pair new for $850 from local watch dealer. Fitment for the gen was perfect at both the case lugs and clasp end, no gap nor too wide.

Wish i didn’t spend over $2k for 3 pairs because the ones from Clean factory are just as good. Highly recommend the ones from Clean. Fitment for these is just as good as gen. They will run much less for around $108 and you can purchase CF straps by itself from TD. Add end links for an OEM look

Best,
My newly acquired VSF114060 has no play like what you describe. Mind you I hadn't thought of testing it like that so personally it would not bother me even if it did.

Thx for your input. Yeah the issue is when I rotate the bezel normally i could feel that the bezel has some "play" (i.e. each click is not super crisp and clean and the bezel has some backwards play if you wiggle it a little).

Maybe there is too much grease under the bezel - this often happens with clean. Had it with my Pepsi.
There is a thread from @KJ2020 who discribes how to solve the problem. The vertikal Play may result in the retaining Ring Not beeing pressed down all the way. Should all be an easy fix for any watchmaker.
