VSF replicas on eBay

I was looking through and saw a sterile 1616 and when I went to view the sellers other items, noticed most are vsf models. Then I saw he listed some as VSF best edition.

All the Branding is photoshopped out through.

I don’t even know what to do. Lol. Like as far as reporting him.

Seems they think they are being clever.

Wonder if photoshopped out logo will be enough to stop getting shut down, I doubt it. Report anyway?

In the dm he sent, there is a link that says “does this message violate eBay tos? Let us know”.

I wonder if a report will work. And like a listing of a rep being sold as gen, how many reports it takes.

I did. It took me to a screen where it said “eBay has been notified”. I didn’t even get to tell them what/why although I’m sure they can figure it out.

Why are we reporting a seller selling Reps as Reps? Selling Reps as Gen I can understand reporting, but Reps as Reps???

Now that I think of it I should have posted this in the eBay section but I see people flip out...and I mean flip out because people sell reps as reps. Especially in that section.

How strange that members of a Rep forum get angry at people selling Reps as Reps! I'm truly puzzled as to why that's an issue for a Rep lover. hwell:

While the pricing leaves much to be desired considering TD pricing (and even then we have no idea if the potential victims, I mean buyers, will actually receive the actual reps), he is indeed not selling them as gens, which would deserve reporting as a member of the replica community. However, selling reps on eBay is still against their terms and conditions, which still would deserve reporting as a private individual. So if someone wants to report it as the latter, go right ahead. But selling reps as reps outside of this forum is something we cannot (and IMHO, should not) control.

I completely understand. In previous threads where people complained about someone posting a rep... I recall one specific thread about a post on Etsy from last year and funny because someone is using those same exact photos right now on eBay listing a BLNR . He listed it as a “Rolex” and was selling it for like $600 dollars. He described it as not authentic and people were going on about reporting him. The pics were of a gen BLNR. I remember saying that the watch looked really good (in terms of authenticity) and saying if he’s only selling it for $600 with a box, what’s the big deal?

and now that I see those exact same pics on eBay it makes me realize that the pics are fake and the watch is fake.

anyway... I wasn’t really thinking it’s a big deal to violate the eBay terms of service. I mean dh gate has similar tos and we alll buy on there no problem.

I think my initial response was just a reaction and also as a member of this forum to uphold the integrity of this hobby. Lol. My original post was meant to point out the listings more than anything.

and even if he is listing vsf models. If someone is buying them on eBay, chances are, many buyers could get a $100 dh gate version and not be able to tell the difference.
