VSF Planet Ocean Bracelet problem

I bought a VSF Planet Ocean from Andiot and it's a fantastic watch, but recently i've noticed if I bend my wrist in an awkward way the bracelet push-button extension pops out to full extension.

I've taken a look at the mechanism and retensioned the spring-plate, which solved it for a week or so but it's now back to how it was.

Has anyone had the same issue, and any suggestions on fix? Or should I just bit the bullet and get a gen strap/clasp?

Sorry no, have had many of them and never experienced it. But I would remove all the protection plastic before anything else. It could add that 0,1mm that makes the mechanism not lock properly. Very low chance it will solve the problem, but worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'd already removed the protection film but as you guessed it didn't make a difference.
