Hey guys,
Can someone please inform me how the VSF 968 dial is fitted to the movement? My dial seems to be turned to the left by about half a bezel click. I would like to open is up and re-adjust it, but dont want to go through the effort if it could only be fixed in one position.
Rupert Fripp I saw you had yours removed to have relumed. Did want to hijack your thread with my question. Can you perhaps tell me?

Usually the dial has two feet that go into the movement. Sometimes those are removed and the dial is then fixed to the movement with double sided sticky dots.

But mostly there is a little play when the movement has been put into the case. You should be able to turn the whole movement together with the dial in its case a tiny bit, after you have loosend the movement holder screws a little bit. There is two of them on opposite sides, holding down little clamps that hold the whole movement in place inside the case.

At least it is worth a try. Best of luck, hopefully an easy fix!

Thanx, maybe I must just open up and look. The reason I think its the dial and not the movement is the fact that it even missalligns over the date window by the same amount. So in my head it looks like the dial is set off center ontop of the movement

Well, then I wonder if it is only the dial that is misaligned, which is a rather common issue with reps, or of it is indeed the dial that sits askew (or worst case: both).

But trying to turn the whole movement will not cure the issue in this case I'm afraid. If everything is still the way it was built and if the watch has never been opened before, I would think that the dial feet are intact. That means that the dial can't move from its position on the movement.

Yes thats what I’m afraid of. Was hoping someone would say they’ve opened one and the dial is only glued on.

As mentioned above, the dial has two feet.

The only option for re-alignment is cutting these and glueing new feet on.

Not the answer I was looking for actually :) but thank you none the less. Will see if its works to adjust the movement and then maybe adjust the date wheel as well. That is most likely the problem then.

Thanx all for the input

You have a bit of flexibility around turning the actual movement after loosening the movement tabs but you might run into trouble with the stem/crown alignment inside the case.

The date-wheel doesn't really have any options for alignment as it's printed on (no overlay to re-glue for better alignment) - you could cut off only one dial foot and use dial dots for better alignment but it's a messy solution :(

Yes, half a bezel click would probably be too much for the stem and crown. Cutting off anything sounds like a bad I dea for me to try myself, lol. I will see how much I can adjust the movement. Even a little would halp a bit. Pity about the date wheel. Thanks again for your input, much appreciated
