Guys... I'm stuck with a decision between VSF or ZF Omega Seamaster 300M. I read that VSF is better at everything but the issue with crown tube issues. Which one would you go for?

At this point, it's either a matter of "religion" or which one you prefer based on research.
I love my ZF pieces, other than Omegas (which in my collection are all from VSF). But when I hear "Omega rep", I turn into a loyal disciple of VSF.
Truth is, the ZF SMP is not a "wrong choice" in this particular case, just a different option that's as similarly / comparably good, but with different strengths and weaknesses.
I would choose ZF without hesitation if it had better availability - or just availability (VSF has had availability issues in the past)-, for example.

Did not make it easier though haha! Both are available from my TD. So hard to decide, and since it is my first watch as well..

VSF - objectively better movement - bi directional winding - quieter rotor. ( ZF has single direction winding )
ZF - better everywhere else and also has the adjustment / regulation screw which is missing on the VSF ( aesthetic accuracy - especially considering it has a clear case back )
IMHO - go the ZF and avoid the "more than possible" crown and tube cross threading issue.

If it helps, I recently picked up a ZF SMP300 and the rotor noise is easily reduced with a little oil. And I’m a complete noob at this and managed it so don’t let this put you off too much. I couldn’t get over VSF’s short crown guards, and definitely didn’t want to risk any tube stripping!
