Hi guys, just picked this up recently and thought I might share some close up pics and me in the process of changing the strap
Here she is! The steel bracelet is really beautiful but seeing as I already have the blue faced one on steel, I figured to put this on a rubber strap. Plus to match the green ceramic bezel
Actually, sorry, I lied
I don't have pics of me in the actual process of removing the bracelet...but since it's off, it's a little easier to take shots:
Some closer shots from various angles; detail on the map/globe on the dial is very impressive. Alignment of the 24 hour ring is good, though not 100% perfect. More on that later.
Yes, though the real deal is also "just" machine finished, I still feel the Côtes de Genève en Arabesque pattern. while probably not matching the "quality" of hand finished movements, is perhaps "prettier" and creative in many ways
Engravings and etches are clean with no burnt marks
The strap in green was very hard to find and not cheap either, but I wanted it!!! haha For those interested, I bought this on Taobao.
But I suppose the quality is very good and worth it in many ways; nice thick rubber, doesn't feel cheap, impressions are solid with no rough edges. Engravings are also very detailed and I'd imagine, gen-like.
Not a fault of VSF, but more of an opinion on the original Omega design; the fittings and design look so well suited to a quick release/quick change system but sadly is just a normal springbar system. A real shame in my opinion especially with so many on the market who are doing it nowadays.
But still very very pleased with the outcome
In real life, there seems to be a very very slight colour difference. But as with some gen reviews I've watched, the colour matches very very well with the bezel.
Obligatory wristie ;D
A side by side comparison with the SBF Green Semaster Diver 300M. I heard the SBF is quite colour accurate to gen? So, this is just for viewing pleasure's sake of comparing the different greens I guess haha
And then a side by side with the older blue version:
I'd grab a blue rubber strap for the blue version too to mix it up a bit and maybe to match the dial a bit better occasionally, but...there you go...no quick change system and removing spring bar bracelets just ain't that fun or smooth sometimes
I will note, while the 24 hour ring numbers still aren't perfectly aligned (based purely on pics on the net - so maybe the gen is also like that), they are a lot better than the older blue version, which may or may not be better implemented now with newer batches as this blue one was from a few years ago now....
The blue version's globe does feel a little more "glisten-y", so I don't know which or both is more accurate to the genuine though both are extremely beautiful!
Overall, an absolutely spectacular piece which I think is one of the best value reps on the market - really really
I mean, rep movement with the same functions and quality and finishing for this type of money...we live in a very lucky era...and world
lol
